Mooi weer, vakantie, we nemen gezellig een ijsje. En vanavond lekker een patatje op het strand. Morgen samen uit eten, naar de pizzatent. Wij doen het ook. Onder het mom van gezelligheid eten we teveel ongezond, en erger nog, onze kinderen ook. 5 tips voor een lekkere vakantie zonder snoep.
1. Frozen fruit
IJsjes staan bij ons ook voor instant geluk. Gooi eens wat vers rijp fruit in de blender, doe er een banaan bij (dan is het wat zoeter) en doe het mengsel in een ijslollyhouder (Xenos, Action, Blokker). Nachtje in de vriezer en hebt de lekkerste gezonde ijsjes. Ik doe het mengsel ook vaak in een klein bekertje met een lepeltje als stokje. Werkt ook.
2. Slim tussendoortje
Als de kinderen naar school gaan geven wij ze altijd gezonde pauzehapjes mee. Maar tijdens de vakantie vergeten we het. Zonde, dat is een lekker gezond tussendoortje en zorgt ervoor dat de kinderen niet gaan zeuren om snoep. Een paar doosjes rozijntje, nootjes of volkoren rijstwafels in je tas is altijd handig.
3. Water met een smaakje
Veel kinderen drinken geen water. Je hebt de neiging om ze dan maar een sapje of limonade te geven. Je kunt ook ervoor zorgen dat er altijd een karaf water in de koelkast staat of – als je kinderen dat te koud vinden – gewoon op de aanrecht. Doe er wat citroen, munt, aardbeien of komkommer in. Dat staat leuk en geeft net een beetje meer smaak. Neem een leuk glas en mooie rietjes, en het wordt echt een traktatie.
4. Samen koken
De vakantie is een mooi moment om de kinderen te leren koken. Je hebt wat meer tijd, de kinderen kunnen mee boodschappen doen. Koop een leuk kinderkookboek en laat de kinderen zelf een recept uitzoeken. In de vakantie heb je er meer tijd voor en vinden ze het ook leuk.
5. Rauwkost bij de hand
Zet op gezette tijden een schaal rauwkost op tafel. Overal zijn kleine paprika’s , minikomkommers en snoeptomaatjes te koop. Maar ook een schaal handzaam fruit is veel lekkerder voor kinderen. Zeker als het warm is.
Gezette tijden
Kinderen worden, net als wij, lamlendig en chagrijnig van teveel zoet. Als je met de kinderen een beetje gezond eet en drinkt is iedereen veel actiever en gezelliger. Eigenlijk een win-win situatie. Natuurlijk mag iets lekkers best een keertje. Spreek met je kinderen tijden en momenten af. Het is niet handig om de hele dag ijsjes, koekjes, snoepjes en limonade naar binnen te werken. Als ze weten wanneer er iets lekkers komt, zeuren ze er niet de hele dag om. Het kan maar duidelijk zijn.
